The first pet rewards credit card with free pet insurance, meet Nibbles

Vet bills aren’t getting any cheaper. Costs have jumped more than 60% in the last decade, and pet owners are feeling it. But one new card is actually helping lighten the load.

The Nibbles Pet Rewards Credit Card offers 3x rewards on pet purchases - from vet visits to toys - and even includes free pet insurance for one eligible pet, with no annual fee. It’s a smart way to save while keeping your best friend happy and healthy.

Nibbles is not a bank. The Nibbles Card is issued by Lead Bank. Fees and T&C apply.

The Dog Who Took Home the Gold

In a season of high-fashion red carpets and intense industry competition, the biggest story of the 2026 Astra Awards didn’t involve a designer gown or a tearful human monologue. Instead, it involved a four-legged star, a black bow tie, and a win that made Hollywood history.

Indy, the eight-year-old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and star of the indie horror hit Good Boy, did the unthinkable: he fetched the award for Best Performance in a Horror or Thriller, besting a category of seasoned human A-listers including Ethan Hawke, Alison Brie, and Sally Hawkins.

A Diamond in the "Ruff"

While the idea of a dog winning a major acting award might sound like the plot of an Air Bud sequel, Indy’s performance was anything but a gimmick. In Good Boy, Indy plays a fiercely loyal pet trying to protect his chronically ill owner from a supernatural presence.

What made the performance so "emotive," according to critics, was the unique way the film was shot. Director Ben Leonberg—who also happens to be Indy’s "dad"—filmed the entire movie from Indy's eye level. Over the course of a three-year production, Leonberg captured genuine moments of confusion, fear, and devotion. There was no voice-over to tell the audience what Indy was thinking; his soulful, copper-colored eyes did all the talking.

The Acceptance Speech (With a Little Help)

Indy wasn't able to attend the ceremony in person (he was likely busy napping at his home in Montana), but he stole the show via a pre-recorded video message. Looking dapper in his formal bow tie, Indy sat patiently while Leonberg accepted the trophy on his behalf.

The director leaned into the humor of the moment, offering a humble nod to Indy’s human competitors:

"Indy is honored to accept this award—especially knowing that he’s standing alongside performers who didn’t even have to be bribed with treats to hit their marks."

Leonberg also noted that Indy was "thrilled to be recognized for his work in a movie he does not totally understand he was in."

Why This Win is a "Good Boy" Moment for Movies

Beyond the adorable headlines, Indy’s win at the 9th Annual Astras represents a growing appreciation for the "silent" work that goes into animal acting. To get Indy to look "frightened," the crew often just held a tennis ball or a piece of salmon-flavored kibble off-camera. Through clever editing and a lot of heart, those moments became a performance that resonated more deeply with voters than any human script.

While some on social media joked about how Ethan Hawke must feel losing to a retriever, the consensus was one of pure joy. In an era of AI and digital effects, there is something deeply refreshing about a real-life dog winning over an audience simply by being himself.

As for what’s next for Hollywood’s newest leading man? While there’s talk of a sequel, Indy seems content with his current rewards: extra-long games of fetch and as many belly rubs as he can handle. Congratulations, Indy—you truly are the goodest boy.
