If your dog follows you from the kitchen to the bathroom and back again, congratulations—you’ve been "velcro-ed." This isn't just about curiosity; it’s about proximity seeking. Your favorite person is their "safe base." If they choose to nap in the same room as you, even when you’re doing something boring like folding laundry, you’re winning.

The Intense Soul-Stare

In the human world, staring can be a bit awkward. In the dog world, prolonged, relaxed eye contact mimics the release of oxytocin (the "love hormone") in both of you. If your pup looks at you with soft, squinty eyes while you’re hanging out, they aren't just asking for a treat—they’re bonding.

The "Post-Work" Freakout

Pay attention to the hierarchy of greetings. Does your dog offer a polite tail wag to some people, but a full-body, "wiggle-butt" shimmy to you? The person who gets the most enthusiastic, uninhibited welcome after a period of separation is usually the favorite.
